Undaria pinnatifida (Wakame):
A brown seaweed derived from protected bay sea waters in Japan. Boosts production, maturation and binding of elastin and collagen fibres of the extracellular matrix. Promotes synthesis of hyaluronic acid. Clinical studies showed that wakame helps maintain the skin’s moisture balance, visibly reduces the appearance and volume of wrinkles and improves skin firmness, elasticity and smoothness. Wakame also helps protect the skin against environmental aggressors.

Fucus serratus (Toothed wrack):

A blue-green alga rich in eight amino-acids with regenerative properties. This alga is an excellent antioxidant and also is known to help reduce skin irritation and redness.
Himanthalia elongata (Thongweed or Sea spaghetti):
A brown alga rich in Vitamins A, C and E along with essential amino acids and minerals. Demonstrates excellent moisturising, repairing and anti-inflammatory properties.
Gorgonian (Sea whip):
A marine plant that looks like a soft coral. Possesses powerful antiinflammatory properties and thus acts as an excellent skin-soothing marine ingredient.
Ulva lactuca (Sea lettuce):
A green alga with strong antioxidant and skin-soothing properties.
Laminaria digitata (Oarweed):
A large brown alga rich in alginic acid, vitamins, minerals and amino-acids. Demonstrates several properties: stimulates metabolic processes, increases cellular energy production and stimulates elimination of excess fluids through the increase of osmotic exchanges. Oarweed is also a good skin conditioner.
Chondrus crispus (Irish moss):
A red alga derived from the rocky parts of the Atlantic coast of Europe. Rich in carrageenans, polysaccharides that act as a second skin ingredient by forming a film on the skin protecting it from water loss. Irish moss shows excellent moisturising properties.
A polyhydroxy acid (PHA) that offers all benefits of AHAs but suitable for sensitive skin due to its gentle nature. Gluconolactone is an excellent skinconditioning agent. By binding water droplets from the air it helps to replenish lost moisture and soften and soothe the skin. Gluconolactone also creates a protective barrier on the skin and prevents a loss of moisture. This PHA demonstrates -chelating, antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties. Some clinical research showed that it may help to soothe rosacea-prone skin. Unlike glycolic acid, gluconolactone does not increase skin sensitivity to the sun.
